The full Moon of 25–26 October falls in al-Thurayyā, the Pleiades
On the night of 25 to 26 October the Moon is full in al-Thurayyā (exactly full at 04:12 UTC on the 26th: 9:12 pm on Sunday the 25th in California, just after midnight in New York, 7:12 am in Istanbul). Al-Thurayyā is the third of the 28 stations, named after the little cluster of stars the Greeks called the Pleiades. Arab poets loved these stars; in the old lists of the mansions this station is counted among the fortunate ones. The full Moon happens at one moment for the whole world, so everyone sees it in the same station; only the clock time and the date change with where you live.
A full Moon visits each station only about once a year. If you keep a Lunar Passport, visit Lazward that night and the full Moon in al-Thurayyā is added to your Full-Moon Atlas.
